Students worked on one particular strategy and worked out how they would teach it to their peers, taking into consideration the different ways that students learn, so that these strategies will be accessible to all.
There were three strategies that we worked on as follows:
- Jump Strategy
- Split Strategy
- Compensation Strategy
There were six groups and each group worked on one strategy for either addition or subtraction.
Our lovely Morakod then assessed each group (as she had missed the start of this activity), according to a checklist (link below) we wrote collaboratively and very confidently provided feedback for the groups to prepare them for sharing their knowledge.
