Spotlight on the Arts!

A huge 'thank you' to all of you who turned out for the "Spotlight on the Arts" evening, last Thursday. It was great to see the children enthused by both music and art, as
well as showcasing their creativity and indeed their talents.

                                                 The Design Cycle

This picture above demonstrates the importance of the process in any type of learning. We have to acknowledge and teach each step in the process of learning, valuing each as equal and not just judging success solely on a finished product.

Parents input and feedback is important in the learning process as well. Children appreciate and value your questions, suggestions and support.

Children need to see themselves as musicians, artists, sportspeople, readers, writers, mathematicians and linguists, whatever it is that captures their interest.

However, for them to be able to do this, we have to see ourselves as all of these things too.

It was fantastic to see our students excited and nervous about sharing their learning with their parents. They were engaged in their learning and it became obvious, as the night wore on, what art form they were passionate about as individuals. The emotions displayed throughout the evening captured that essence!

Thank you for being part of our first 'Spotlight on the Arts' experience!
