Phnom Penh Post - Kimchean Koy and David Myers,
Below is the task as set out by Ms. Dana for today.
Tasks
- Respond to the large artwork by local artists, David Myers and Kimchean Koy in sketchbooks. What is the mood? What is the message?
- Use the tangram shapes to create a symbol of a local issue in our community.
- Each student creates a different stencil of the simple shapes that make up their symbol.
- Each group of 4-5 students paints/sponges their stencil onto a shared canvas.
- These canvases will be displayed as our response.
- When finished, students can stencil their symbol once onto a large, collaborative canvas that all 5 schools will be adding to. ISPP students can add their symbols to 4-5 triangles per large canvas (these will be painted by a staff member at the beginning of the field trip while students cut their stencils.)
- Clean up and add to thank you card to iCan for hosting us.
