Over the next week our students will write a migration narrative. It will be based on this unit's lines of inquiry. Our students have had practice at planning a story using a story mountain and then transferring their ideas to a structured narrative planner. This week they have practiced in groups how to write a story, using these planners, and by the week's end will have a good idea about how to design their own story. They will make choices about how to present their story..
We have read and shared a lot of stories throughout this unit and discussed ways to improve the quality of a story, using this unit's Lines of Inquiry as a basis for our discussions, as well as the conventions of writing.
Next week , the focus will be on creating their own migration story.
