...and more debating

Students are very dedicated to this business of debating and are becoming very passionate about their issue and feel compassion towards those people or animals who are suffering.

We spent some time deliberating and discussing the debates that were held earlier this week, to provide feedback and clarify any aspect of the debate. Judges then deliberated and provided feedback before giving their decision.

Here are the results for the previous two debates:
Motion: There should be a limit to how many trees can be cut down per day.
Proposition Team: Luca, Panhaboth, Cherry
Opposition Team: Haziq, Max, Lisa.C.
Result: After deliberation, feedback judges decided the winning ream was the opposition, Haziq, Max and Lisa.C. Well done to both teams!

Motion: People do affect the forest.
Proposition Team: Lisa.C, Manivann & Monica
Opposition Team: Arthur, Molly and Bunleng
(Molly kindly offered to step in when Alex became ill - thank you Molly for your risk-taking)
Result: After deliberating and providing feedback the judges decided that the opposition team of Arthur, Molly and Bunleng were the winning team. Once again, congrats to both teams!

Today's debate focused on endangered animals, the motion being: We are all responsible for animal extinction.

Amanda, Adam, Siwoo made up the proposition team, whereas Summer Rose, Wouter, Lisa.E. made up the opposition team.

The result after the judges deliberation was that the opposition had the stronger argument.Well done Summer Rose, Wouter and Lisa!

Once again we learnt a lot about how to debate from these two groups and had a feedback session to understand how we could improve.
