Practice for Exhibition Evening

During the past week or so, students have had opportunities to share their work with their peers, teachers, mentors and other Elementary students who have not seen what they have been doing for the past month.

It was an eye opening experience, as they realised what they have to do to make their exhibition evening a success.

We then reflected on those experiences and created a plan to make the following concepts clear:

When conversing with our audience, these were some thoughts that came up:
  • Did we engage our audience? This led to a conversation about: How do we best interact with our audience? Students acknowledged that this would be different for different media groups.
  • How do we inspire others to take action? (concept - change) Can our passion for our chosen issue shine through our conversation and media to impact our audience?
  • How did the PYPX process change us? (concept - causation) Students have spent time reflecting on the process - we stepped back for a minute and looked at Week 1 to Week 5 to see just what has happened.
When focusing on our media type through discussion or through a performance:
  • How did you show your issue(s) through your media? (perspective)
We will continue to develop these thoughts as we move towards Wednesday evening.
