Collaboration

Today, we discussed what collaboration means by first discussing what we knew about it.

Students were split into 4 groups.

Students then got as many words on the board as they could that they thought reflected COLLABORATION.

It was very interesting to see how many of the same words came up in different groups.

The groups then created their own definition and put it on the board.

We then voted on the top definition and came up with the following statement:
Cooperating together with tolerance and enthusiasm.
Our next step was to put this information in our process journals. From there we wrote down all the people that we thought we had collaborated with so far during the PYPX and wrote a short sentence to say 'how' we had collaborated with them.  We then designed a mind map to show those personal links -the nearer links represent those people we have collaborated with the most and the farther away links show collaboration, but to a lesser extent.

Our last step was to place those links on our G5 Collaboration board (see pictures below). This is a visual representation of the collaboration that has been going on during the PYPX! This activity has helped students to clarify their understanding of those links and realise just how important they have been!

This board will grow with links every day as it is moved from one class to another.

Please drop by to see it sometime and ask your child to share their understanding of it with you.
